General Information about Best Western Rewards

1. What is Best Western Rewards?

Best Western Rewards is Best Western’s loyalty program. Members can earn Best Western Rewards points, miles or points from our earning partners for their stays at over 4,000 hotels worldwide. Best Western Rewards points can be redeemed for numerous awards. Many awards can be redeemed after just 4 nights. A free night in a hotel of your choice is usually available after only 10 regular nights.

2. What are the benefits of a Best Western Rewards membership?

As a Best Western Rewards member, you can earn points at any Best Western hotel worldwide on almost all room rates. You will receive a free night after only 10 regular nights and other awards after only 4 nights. You will always receive the best room in the booked room category and as a Gold, Platinum, Diamond or Diamond Select member you’ll even receive a free room upgrade (subject to availability). As an Elite member you will get further benefits. Exclusive offers for Best Western Rewards members also allow you to enjoy bonus points and reduced free nights. Not only can you earn points for your hotel stays, you can also fill your points account with our car rental partners Sixt, Avis and Budget. For car rentals you can collect up to 2,000 Best Western Rewards points.

3. How can I enroll for Best Western Rewards?

You can enroll online for Best Western Rewards in just a few steps. Your membership number will be sent to you immediately. Of course you can also enroll directly at any Best Western hotel worldwide or contact our member service. You will then receive an email with your new virtual membership card to download to your smartphone or tablet. If you want a physical membership card, you can order it online in your member account or through our member service.

4. Can my Best Western Rewards points expire?

As of January 01, 2016, your Best Western Rewards points will no longer expire. So you can use them whenever you want. Our tip: Register for our newsletter! We will be happy to inform you about your current balance and much more. Register with our member service or right here online.

1. Earning options with Best Western Rewards

You can earn Best Western Rewards points, airline miles or Payback points at any of over 4,000 Best Western Hotels worldwide. You set an earning preference, but you can decide what you want to earn each time you stay. You can also earn additional Best Western Rewards points by renting a car with Avis, Budget or Sixt.

2. Do I receive points or miles for any Best Western stay?

Best Western Rewards points, airline miles or Payback points are awarded in all 4,000 Best Western Hotels worldwide on almost all room rates. However, stays booked through online travel agencies ("OTA"), such as priceline.com, expedia.com, travelocity.com, booking.com, kayak.com (i.e. booking channels other than Best Western branded channels); stays booked by tour operators; and stays booked at reduced rates, such as employee rates, FIT or wholesale net rates, group rates, airline rates, BWR overnight stays, or special rates for long-term stays longer than thirty nights are excluded. 3. Can I earn both points AND miles for the same stay?

No, you can either earn Best Western Rewards points OR airline miles OR Payback points. But you can change your earning preference for each new stay, if you wish.

4. How many points or miles to I receive for a stay?

How many Best Western Rewards points you get for your stay will depend on your room revenue. You will receive 10 Best Western Rewards points for every 1 US Dollar spent on overnight stays (a fixed Euro exchange rate applies). If you prefer to earn something different, you can earn either 250 PAYBACK points, 500 Miles & More award miles or 250 OK Plus miles for your stay. All other airline partners can be found here.

5. When do I receive points or miles for my stay?

Your Best Western Rewards points, airline miles or Payback points should be credited to your member account no later than 7-14 days after your stay. Are you missing points or miles? Then please contact our member service. We will be happy to help you.

6. How can I earn Best Western Rewards points for car rentals?

You can earn points for your car rentals at Avis, Budget and Sixt. Simply state your Best Western Rewards membership number when booking your desired car and present your Best Western Rewards membership card at the pick-up counter. Best Western Rewards points are awarded approximately 4 to 6 weeks after rental. Benefit additionally from our partnerships and save up to 20%!

7. As a frequent traveller, do I receive additional benefits with Best Western?

After only 10 nights, 10,000 base points or 7 stays within one calendar year, Gold Status will give you the first Elite Status with additional benefits. After 15 nights, 15,000 base points or 10 stays, you'll earn Platinum status and after 30 nights, 30,000 base points or 20 stays, you'll earn Diamond status with attractive benefits such as additional bonus points, room upgrades based on availability and exclusive Elite offers. Spend at least 50 nights or 40 stays a calendar year with us or have you earned at least 50,000 base points? Then enjoy your Diamond Select status with even more benefits! 8. Do I have to be a Best Western member to collect airline miles?

You only need to register once with Best Western to earn Miles & More miles or Payback points. You can do this either directly at the hotel or through our member service. You can either directly earn miles or points with your airline or Payback membership card at our hotel, or you can have a Best Western Rewards membership card issued to you and earn miles or points from our travel partners. Want to earn OK Plus miles? This requires an additional Best Western Rewards membership. You can enroll either directly at the hotel or via our member service. By becoming a Best Western Rewards member, you have the opportunity to reach elite status and then enjoy further benefits. Best Western Rewards awards

1. What can I do with my points?

You can redeem your Best Western Rewards points for numerous awards, including a free night, a Best Western Travel Card hotel voucher and many more. All awards can be found here.

2. Ho do I redeem points for a Free Night?

If you have at least 5,000 points, you can redeem them for a free night. Simply book your free night through the member service or directly at the hotel. Alternatively, you can redeem your points for a free overnight stay online: Please log in first under "Best Western Rewards - My Account" with your personal data. Then select your desired hotel as usual in the booking mask. In the "Rewards" section you can book your free overnight stay in just a few steps. You can find more information about free nights under "Redeem points".

3. What is a Best Western Travel Card?

The Best Western Travel Card is a voucher which you can use to pay for all hotel services in the amount of the loaded amount. You can redeem your points for a Best Western Travel Card or purchase it online or though our member service.

Pay with Points

1. How can I book my stay with „Pay with Points“?

If you have at least 5,000 points in your member account, you can redeem them with a "Pay with Points" booking. This is only valid for the “Pay with Points” rate. Simply make a reservation via the member service or log into your profile at the top right under "Login" and then book at www.bestwestern.de/paywithpoints_en.

2. What are the requirements for booking with “Pay with Points”?

A minimum of 5,000 points is required to make a reservation with Pay with Points. Members can book a stay with Pay with Points for all room types with any combination of points and cash in increments of 1,000 points, starting with 5,000 points. For multiple night stays, Pay with Points can only be used for the first night.
A valid credit card is required to reserve the room. Reservation is subject to the participating hotel's reservation policy, including the hotel's cancellation policy.

3. Do I collect points for my bookings with „Pay with Points“?

Yes, you earn base points as well as elite bonus points for the cash part of your stay. Also, the nights count towards your elite status.

4. How do I change or cancel my booking using „Pay with Points“?

Reservations paid with points cannot be changed. To change your reservation, you must first cancel the reservation and then make a new reservation, if available.
You may cancel your reservation by visiting www.bestwestern.de or by calling the Best Western reservation center. If you cancel your reservation in accordance with the hotel's cancellation policy, your points will be credited back to your account and your credit card will not be charged. If you are unable to use your room and do not cancel your reservation by the time indicated on your confirmation, Best Western will not credit your account for the redeemed points and your credit card will be charged the cash portion of the first night's stay.


Missing points

1. I didn't receive points for my stay, how can I get them?

You’ll receive points if the stay was not more than 6 months ago and you have kept the invoice. Please send it together with your 16-digit Best Western Rewards membership number to bwr.service@bestwestern.com, we will be happy to add the points for you. Alternatively, you can request your missing points in the online membership account under "Missing Points".

2. Do I receive points for stays prior to my membership?

For stays taking place within the last 30 days prior to your Best Western Rewards enrollment, we will be happy to add your Best Western Rewards points. Please contact our Best Western Rewards member service for more information.

1. How can I check my account balance?

You can check your account balance by telephone or e-mail from our member service or you can set up online access to your member account. This way you can check your current points balance yourself at any time. Our tip: Subscribe to our Rewards Newsletter and we will keep you regularly informed about your scores!

2. How do I check my account balance online?

Log in to your member account using your membership number and existing password. If you are doing this for the first time, you will need to set up a password first. To do this, your email address must already be on file in your account. If this is not yet the case, a short e-mail or a call to our member service is sufficient. If an e-mail address is already stored in your account, please click on "Forgotten password". A password will be sent to you immediately.

3. Where can I update my personal information?

No matter if your address has changed, if you want to change your earning preference or if you want to subscribe to our newsletter, our member service will gladly accept your changes. If you have online access to your member account, you can of course also make your own changes there.

Gold Crown Club

1. Is my Gold Crown Club membership Card still valid?

In 2009, our loyalty program was renamed from Gold Crown Club to Best Western Rewards. Your old Gold Crown Club card will of course remain valid, only the name of the program has changed. But you will enjoy the same benefits as before. We will also be happy to send you a new Best Western Rewards membership card, just contact our member service.
